Pupil Premium

Pupil Premium

The Pupil Premium is funding that we receive from the government in addition to our main school funding, to benefit pupils who are deemed to be disadvantaged. Specifically, Pupil Premium funding is targeted for those pupils who are in receipt of Free School Meals (FSM) or those children who have received FSM in the last 6 years (FSM6) or have been looked after continuously over the last 6 months or adopted from care (LAC). There is also a smaller amount of funding for pupils for who have a parent in the Armed services. Though there is no specific directive on how the money should be spent it is clear that the money should be spent on initiatives which narrow the attainment gap between the highest and lowest achievers and to overcome any barriers for learning.

Please read the information below which gives details of our Pupil Premium Grant and how we allocate the funding.  In some areas details cannot be given due to maintaining confidentiality around the small numbers within the group.  “The DfE’s policy is to suppress publication of figures relating to a cohort of 5 pupils or fewer. This is intended to reduce the risk of individual pupils being identified from published data.”
