Our Values

Our core values

Our values are at the core of everything we do. They underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils as confident, happy citizens.

  • “Our vision for education is deeply Christian, with Jesus’ promise of ‘life in all its fullness’ at its heart” (the Church of England Vision for Education)
  • “Go not where you are needed, but where you are needed most.”
  • “Do all the good that you can, by all the means you can, in all the ways you can, at all the times you can, as long as ever you can, to all the people you can” (key Methodist Principles of Education)

Our school aims to serve its community by providing an education of the highest quality within the context of Christian belief and practice. It encourages an understanding of the meaning and significance of faith, and promotes Christian values through the experience it offers to all its pupils.

As part of the Hope Sentamu Learning Trust family of schools we aspire to grow together, serve one another and support our children in living life ‘in all its fullness’ (John 10 10).Β We work to deliver these aspirations through our 5 Commitments:Β care, creativity, courage, collaboration and the Christian faith.

Christian faith

  • Both Christian traditions which founded our school support the spiritual development of children and adults
  • The Christian year guides our celebrations, worship and RE; these help explore the key Christian concepts of hope, forgiveness, love and respect
  • Creative opportunities and engagement with different churches support all of us in reflection on our own beliefs, religious or otherwise
